Honoring Vinnie
Vinnie Cirino was a lifelong Waltham, Ma resident who had a passion and love for family, friends and sports. From the first moment he was able to, he had a soccer ball at his feet and a baseball in his hands. He was often on the sidelines of his older brother's games, playing away and practicing for when it would one day be his turn. He was determined, fierce, and passionate on the field and always tried his best and hardest to help his team win. He played varsity soccer and baseball in high school and even afterwards kept up with the two sports, playing in adult leagues in and around Waltham. In 2016, at the age of 31, he was taken from this world after a hard fought battle with Leukemia. Although he may be gone, his spirit will always be with us and with the city he grew up in.
"...Vinny always gave 100% at practice and at games, and he was a real team player. At times he would be hard on himself. He never backed down from a challenge even if the opponent was bigger. His passion for the game was contagious. He was a great ambassador on and off the field..."

To honor him and his legacy, The Vinnie Cirino Memorial Scholarship has been created. The mission of the scholarship is to award players that have the same drive, passion and love of the game that Vinnie had and that was so evident to those around him.
